Daytona Rain Challenges Lagasse in Friday’s Subway Firecracker 250

Scott Lagasse Jr. returned to Daytona International Speedway this weekend to compete in Friday’s Subway Firecracker 250.

Sporting the Alert Today Alive Tomorrow and Boy Scouts of America (BSA) insignia on his No. 29 car, Lagasse Jr. participated in the weekend’s only scheduled practice session on Thursday, posting speeds fast enough for the 14th position.

Though the skies were gray and the forecast less than desirable on Friday, the Nationwide Series cars took to the track for qualifying. Several minutes into round one, a handful of drivers hit a sudden wall of rain sending them spiraling down the backstretch. Lagasse Jr., close behind, was unable to avoid the out of control cars and made contact, terminally damaging his Alert Today Alive Tomorrow racecar.
