St. Augustine, FL (September 16, 2013)

Scotty/Wild Scout T-Shirt Available at www.teamslr.com/storeSome of the best Dirt Late Model Racers from around the Southeast arrived at Volusia Speedway Park, Friday for practice and for Saturday’s National Late Model Series (NLMS) Race at the track known as the World’s Fastest Dirt half mile oval.

This would be Scott Lagasse Jr.’s (Scotty’s) second entry into a Hedman Hedders National Late Model Series Race and the first for the “Boy Scout Built” Car named “Lightning”. The car is sponsored by the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, Bug Out Services, Action Heating & Air and Boy Scouts of America. “Lightning” was assembled from a bare frame to a complete Dirt Race Car by thousands of Boy Scouts this July at the BSA National Jamboree where the build was delayed several times by lightning storms and the inaugural race was also postponed by thunderstorms and lightning which motivated the team to name the car.
