Bobby MesmerBobby Mesmer is not your average race car driver. At 6’4” and 280lbs he was told he would never be competitive in any form of racing, especially road racing where weight and balance is critical. Not listening to the naysayers and proving all of them wrong, Bobby has caught attention with his aggressive winning style on track and his larger than life personality off track.

Early in his career, Bobby started racing AMA Motocross at the age of 7. During his time in Motocross he won numerous races in his classes throughout the entire Northeast. Bobby MesmerGrowing up Bobby had a love for snowmobiling that was fueled by his passion for speed and living on the edge. After being taught to ride his own sled at 6 years of age, he found his way into cross-country snowmobile racing in Canada and eventually snowmobile drag racing throughout the Northeastern United States. After turning 17 and still having the need for speed in his blood, Bobby found his way into NHRA drag racing junior ranks. Bobby was able to earn the respect of other racers on track through his constant determination to go faster and be the best.

Bobby has been a part of the SCCA Club Racing world for a few years. He has obtained many first place finishes in his T2 class with his Porsche Cayman S against more experience and much higher horsepower cars. His abilities and his aggressive style earned the attention of some partial sponsors while he ran in SCCA US Majors. Bobby also participated in multiple Chump Series races, where as an endurance team driver he help lead his team to numerous first place podium finishes. Bobby has also participated as an on track test driver for many types of cars from Porsche, Ferrari to Formula Atlantics.

Bobby MesmerAs the owner of the Robert Michaels Group, LLC a national retail construction group with offices in New Jersey and San Diego, CA, as well as RMG Motorsports, LLC Bobby keeps himself very busy. However, he still manages to always find time to give back to his community and local charitable organizations. In 2008, Bobby obtained his Private Pilots License, and continued to obtain multiple endorsements on his license. Bobby is a member of the AOPA, EAA and a part of the International Aerobatics Club (IAC) where he manages to perform in a couple of air shows each year as a stunt pilot. Bobby utilizes his pilots license and resources to give back to charity through donating his time and experience to the Pilots and Paws rescue service to help relocate adopted and rescued pets to their new homes throughout the Northeast. Bobby also works with the Make-A-Wish foundation as well as Air Charity Network where he volunteers to help bring smiles and support to children in need through flights and instruction. With Air Charity Network, Bobby flies needy patients whose health care problems require long distance travel to and from medical facilities. Through his racing, Bobby has additionally worked closely with Jimbos Squad, a non-for profit organization aiding the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA, as he helps race for a cure for cancer and to help build awareness.

In 2016, Bobby joins TeamSLR for a full schedule in the Trans Am- TA2 Series. He’ll be looking for more podium finishes and victories in his Chevrolet Camaro.
