Scott Lagasse Jr. Prepares for Homestead

(St. Augustine, Fla.) November 18, 2015

Scott Lagasse, Jr. will wrap up the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season racing in his home state of Florida at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday night. Wrapping up a four-race NCWTS schedule, Lagasse will climb behind the wheel of the Alert Today Florida/Pinch A Penny/Beck Chevrolet Silverado.

TeamSLRDespite having two NASCAR XFINITY Series starts at the 1.5-mile Homestead-Miami Speedway, Friday night’s race will mark Lagasse’s first NCWTS start at the South Florida track. Lagasse is anxious to return to Homestead after being forced out of last year’s XFINITY Series season finale due to an illness that put him in the hospital just hours before the start. “I enjoy racing at Homestead, and last year was the first time in my career that I couldn’t make a start due to an illness, and to think it was in an RCR car, some of the best equipment out there,” said Lagasse.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Alert Today Florida/Pinch A Penny/Boy Scouts Chevy this weekend. We have had great success together with our sponsors this year and I hope to build on the success this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway and carry the momentum into the 2016 season. I can’t wait to show off the new Alert Tonight paint scheme under the lights with another great finish,” said Lagasse.

Friday night’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway marks Lagasse’s fourth NCWTS race of 2015. In three previous starts, Lagasse has recorded one top-five and two top-10 finishes, including a third-place result at Daytona International Speedway in the season opener.

Lagasse will continue his relationship with long-time partners Alert Today Florida, Pinch A Penny and BSA as his Chevrolet Silverado sports their colors this weekend in Homestead.

“Alert Today Florida” is a pedestrian and bicycle safety campaign facilitated by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The program spreads the message that “Safety Doesn’t Happen by Accident” and serves as a reminder to all road users to pay attention, follow the rules, and to share the road safely.

In Florida, more than 75% of fatal pedestrian crashes occur after dark. A new campaign component “Alert Tonight Florida” is being rolled out to remind motorists to pay extra attention for pedestrians and bicyclists on the roadway, especially at night, and to remind pedestrians and bicyclists to use lights, and wear bright clothing and other reflective items to make sure they can be seen.

Pinch A Penny Pool Patio and Spa is America’s largest franchised pool and spa care company and a partner with Scott Lagasse Jr., and TeamSLR.

The Ford EcoBoost 200 can be seen live on Friday, November 20 on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. EST. Pre-Race coverage begins at 7:30 p.m. on FOX Sports 1. The event will also be broadcast live on MRN Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

Before any racing takes place at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Lagasse will be at Pinch-A-Penny: America’s largest Pool and Spa Supply Retailer Store No. 206 in Cutler Bay, Florida on Wednesday, November 18, from 2-6p.m. The store is located at: 18850 South Dixie Highway, Cutler Bay, FL 33157.

On Thursday, November 19, Lagasse drove 4th Grade student, Jake Nimark, a deserving Boy Scout to school in his Alert Today Florida/Pinch-A-Penny/BSA race car. Lagasse will share his passion for being safe on and around the roads with the students at Keys Gate Charter School.

When Lagasse Jr. is not racing on the NASCAR circuit, he is racing the “Scout Built” dirt late model race car called “Lightning” at tracks around the southeast. Lagasse and TeamSLR have proven to be very fast with “Lightning” and it is always great fun.

Lagasse will race “Lightning” again on December 12, 2015 at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL for the Donnie Tanner Memorial Series Late Models-Special Event with Pinch-A-Penny as the primary sponsor.
